I  am absolutely in love with the idea of love and that makes Valentine’s Day an important festival (giggles 🙂 )! And I am so excited to begin the Lifestyle section of my blog with this post. (Click here to navigate to the Travel section)

Apart from the Red lipstick, Red nail paint and the Red dress, on every Valentine’s day, I like to spend some time to color my house Red, with some cute DIY decor.

Sharing today my decor ideas for this Valentine’s day. Make your day special and celebrate the spirit of love, with these quick and easy DIY decor!!

❤ HeART frames ❤

This idea helps to recycle any old frames in the house, and you can choose different combinations to make the designs unique and customized.

I made a few different versions, sharing them here.

Here is what you would need –

Supplies
  • Old frames (any size) – I used 5 x 7 and 8 x 10
  • Red (or pink) heart cutouts – you can make them from felt. foam or use peel off stickers, stuffed hearts etc.
  • Red, white and textured card stock (thick paper)
  • Scissors / Paper- trimmer
  • Hot glue gun
  1. Take the photo frame and remove the glass and picture (if any). Keep the glass separate we will not be using it
  2.  Using the back cover of the frame, outline the dimensions on your choice of card stock paper and use scissors or the paper trimmer to cutout the exact size
  3. Insert the card stock inside the frame and  close the frame
  4. Your canvas is ready and you can customize it how you like! I used heart shaped foam stickers, and some stuffed hearts with glue gun

That’s it, the first set of decor is ready!

Below is another one which I created using stuffed hearts:

Personalized Love ❤ Frame

This is a beautiful twist to the photo frames above. Make your decor even more memorable by personalizing it in this unique way.

Below is what you can use for this frame –

Supplies
  • A 8 x 10 photo frame
  • One red felt sheet ( I used this one with peel & sticky back)
  • Transparent love theme and solid red card stock (thick paper)
  • A 5 x 7 picture
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors / Paper-trimmer
  1. Take the photo frame and remove the glass and picture (if any). Keep the glass separate we will not be using it
  2. Using the back cover of the frame, outline the dimensions on the red card stock paper as well as the transparent printed paper and use scissors or the paper trimmer to cutout the exact size
  3. Insert both the card stock papers inside the frame (keeping the transparent on on the top) and close the frame
  4. Carve out a heart shape from the red felt sheet and then use this to trace and get a heart shape cutout of a favorite picture (keep in mind to cut the picture slightly smaller than the felt shape)
  5. Using a glue gun, stick the heart felt shape on the frame (mine had a sticky back) and then top it up with your heart shape picture

Voila, the personalized heart shape frame decor is ready!

Heart Twiquet (Twigs Bouquet)

It’s Valentine’s Day and everything needs to have hearts on it. This neat little idea, can be a great trick to clean your backyard of the unwanted twigs and then recycle them into into pretty decor.

All you need is –

Supplies
  • Some twigs (5-6 for a vase, or more as you like)
  • Red (or pink) Heart cutouts – you can make them from felt foam( I used peel off stickers)
  • A flower vase
  • White acrylic paint (optional)

  1. Pick up some fallen twigs of different shapes ( length should be tall enough to stand out from the flower vase)
  2. Brush these twigs with a paper napkin or a newspaper, you really don’t want that unwanted dust coming into the house 🙂
  3. (Optional) If you would like to give some more texture to this decor, paint the twigs white, using white acrylic paint and a small size paint brush
  4. Adjust 5-6 twigs in a vase and then decorate them with foam stickers or felt hearts (might need to use some hot glue for sticking the felt hearts)

There it is, a beautiful & hearty bouquet is ready!!

❤ Love Candles

This one again is a super easy DIY and lends the theme of love to any available candles.

Here is what you need for this one –

Supplies
  • Glass candle ( you can even get one from Dollar tree :-))
  • Some textured ribbon ( I got mine from Dollar tree)
  • Red (or pink) heart cutouts – you can make them from felt. ( I used some stuffed hearts, that I found at Michael’s)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors

  1. Layer on the ribbon around the glass candle using some scissors and hot glue
  2. Make it more about love with a heart embellishment

This is such an easy craft and you can customize it with so many different embellishments with changing seasons and occasions.

PS – I love you ❤

There is an even more compelling need to spell the magic words for Valentine’s day, do it with style with this beautiful decor idea!

All you need is –

Supplies
  • 4 -5 red felt sheets (I used this one with sticky back)
  • 4 -5 pink felt sheets (I used this one with sticky back)
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Ribbon
  • Cut out alphabets

  1. Draw a heart shape on the felt sheets (red and pink) and carve out heart cutouts. (You need 8 heart cutouts for ‘I love you and if you like to give a space between the words, you would need 10 cutouts)
  2. Using hot glue, stick the heart cutouts to a ribbon, in a red & pink pattern
  3. Stick alphabets, to say I love you on these hearts

All done, and this cute and perky Valentine’s Day Decor is ready.

Hope you guys liked the ideas, do let me know if you try some or if you are looking for DIY ideas for any occasions.
